This book brings together articles published by educational scholar Aleksander Elango (born 1902) between 1928 and 2000. The selection-drawn from nearly 600 previously published writings—was made by the author himself on the threshold of his 100th birthday. Over the course of almost 80 years, Elango wrote extensively on the history of Estonian schools and educational thought, home education and youth work, educational psychology, and the temperance movement. As vibrant and multifaceted as his body of work is, so too is his personality. This book offers a glimpse into both.
