Kaja, who knew only two words of Finnish (terve and guudbai), ended up as a guest lecturer at the University of Jyväskylä for a single semester at the Professor's invitation. But the snowball had started rolling—the land of a thousand lakes captured Kaja’s heart, and that half a year turned into many.

"We have fixed a lot of stereotypes about our neighbor in our minds, but how much do we actually know about what Finland and the Finns living there are really like?" Kaja now asks, sharing her personal experiences with our northern neighbors: their spirited nature, inside-out humor, thrifty mindset, and big hearts.
