The book is intended for readers whose field is not psychology but who nevertheless encounter psychologically oriented problems in their professional work. It is aimed at production managers and specialists whose success depends significantly on such factors as the “human factor” and the “psychological climate.”
The work is not meant to be a handbook providing an exhaustive overview of industrial psychology, nor has it sought to adopt the comprehensive yet dry schematic approach typical of textbooks. At the same time, the goal has been to give the reader an understanding of the research conducted by psychologists in the field of production and to help them better interpret problems to which the term “psychological” is applied.
