This collection comprises writings originally published in the magazine Looming. It is a book about contemporary problems and goals. However, the primary focus is on those pivotal issues that are not only significant today but have been inherited from yesterday and extend far into the distant tomorrow.

The existence of our descendants on Earth depends on the resolution of many of these questions. Preserving nature and the living environment, the fight against incurable diseases, and ensuring sufficient food for the planet's inhabitants—these are problems that concern everyone.

Naturally, the human being is at the forefront: the development of one's spiritual world and protection from the oppressive effects of the era, which are felt to some extent even here. Above all, however, is the individual's work, which creates values for all time.
