National Defence Studies is a multidisciplinary subject. On the one hand, it deals with theoretical approaches to modern security and defence policy and the structure of the defence forces, on the other hand, it provides a very practical overview of weapons and line training, topography and first aid, and, perhaps surprisingly, environmental protection in the defence forces. This diversity reflects the nature of national defence as a whole closely connected to different areas of life.
