The book is intended for all residents of Tallinn who value the nature within the city and wish to spend their free time outdoors. We hope that the information in the book will also inspire outdoor learners. Since Tallinn has many diverse neighborhoods, it is a very species-rich city. A large portion of the parks are under conservation, as well as numerous old-growth trees and glacial erratics.
Nõmme is a particularly nature-oriented district. The residential areas are situated amidst well-preserved nature. This is a very valuable asset that we aim to preserve. As the next step in protecting the beautiful nature of our city, the Tallinn City Government proposed in August 2013 to designate the Pääsküla Bog as a protected area.
