Eino Tubin, the younger son of composer Eduard Tubin, was born in Tartu in 1942. In the autumn of 1944, he arrived in Sweden as a refugee together with his parents and brother. He studied journalism and worked for decades in the field of Swedish civil defence information. After the deaths of his parents and brother, he moved with his wife, Beyhan, to the southern coast of Turkey, to the small town of Kaş.

The memoir Teisal tells the story of life in Sweden and Turkey, seen through the sensitive eyes of a journalist. A substantial part of the memoir is devoted to his father, Eduard Tubin, one of the great figures of Estonian music, and to the circumstances in which the masterpieces of Estonian music he composed came into being. Teisal concludes with memories of a unique concert devoted to Tubin's works in Ankara.
