Raimond Valgre is such a special, close, and meaningful figure for Estonians that he is more of a beautiful memory than a concrete person, a composer. He lives on in his songs, his melodies are known by heart, and everyone has created their own imagination of the legend, which contains a part of a romantic, easily infatuated and easily disappointed person, a part of a gifted composer entirely devoted to music, a part of our lost paradise, our dreams, hopes, happiness, and misfortune.
The following pages allow us to take a glimpse into Raimond Valgre's family album. Many older people have probably regretted that the photos taken long ago remain undated. The years have erased the names of once-familiar acquaintances from memory. Unanswered questions also linger on the pages of Valgre's album, yet a small piece of a promising beginning, sunny years, and the shadows that fell upon them unfold before us.
