Although instrumental examinations and laboratory analyses have become an essential part of medical work with the development of medical science, the diagnosis of a disease is primarily achieved through traditional methods of the medical art—observation, auscultation, and palpation. History-taking and status examination were, are, and will remain the cornerstone of patient examination. Without thoroughly interviewing and accurately clinically examining the patient, a physician cannot get a correct picture of the disease, and the patient, with their problems, remains a stranger to them.

The book "Patient Examination" is a textbook on the art of medicine: how to meet a patient and start constructive cooperation, how to determine the nature and causes of their health disorders, and how to perform a clinical examination of the patient from "head to toe."

The authors of the book are experienced clinicians and educators, and it is primarily intended as a reference for medical students. However, it is equally useful for every general and specialist physician who examines and treats people in their daily practice.
