The aim of this work is to offer annotated texts spanning many centuries. To facilitate easier navigation, a diverse overview of the history of folklore studies is provided chronologically, according to individual authors or phenomena. As many of the texts included feature calendar holidays that require commentary, a comprehensive table of all calendar holidays is provided in the appendix. The selected texts are the most significant and are chosen from as many authors as possible, including some rarer and harder-to-access ones.
