This overview is not a detailed treatment of the literary life of our northern neighbors. It aims to provide a compact summary of different periods in Finnish literature as well as key information about prominent writers. The overview is primarily intended for Estonian philologists whose curricula include Finnish literature, but it is also suitable for all fans of Finnish literature.
