The book analyzes the works of prominent poets of the 20th century: Eluard, Aragon, Saint-John Perse, Prévert, Char, Reverdy, Desnos, Queneau. The main tendencies of French poetry are considered in the context of ideological and aesthetic divisions, the intense struggle between realism and modernism.
