The second volume of the series focuses on the medieval history of Finland, spanning from the first crusades to the eve of the Reformation (approx. 1150–1520). Author O. A. Forsström provides a detailed account of the spread of Christianity, the consolidation of Swedish rule, the long-standing border conflicts with Novgorod, and the development of medieval social structures, towns, and church life in Finland.
