The publication presents the results of the research group's work on the development of Judaism and early Christianity, including articles that were completed between 2006 and 2008 and were published both in Estonia and abroad.

If volume XIV of the series of proceedings «Introduction to exegetics» (2006) helps the reader to enter the field of biblical studies, volume XIX is partly a continuation of it, inviting students to analyze the presented topics themselves.

The head of the research group, Randar Tasmuth, believes that it is a completely extraordinary collection. "This is also the key to understanding the articles whose coordinates the book provides.
