Vana kannel. IX, Lüganuse regilaulud

“Vana Kannel” is a subseries within the “Monumenta Estoniae Antiquae” series, initiated by Jakob Hurt, with the aim of publishing all recorded Estonian runic songs. “Vana Kannel” is a text-critical edition with commentary, including a scholarly apparatus, various indexes and a glossary, as well as musical notation and photographic illustrations. Each volume presents all runic song texts and melodies from a single parish, along with an extensive introductory section. This introduction consists of research articles and surveys of scholarly scope, covering the collection of runic songs in the parish, singers, song tradition, melodies, the history of the parish, and the dialect language of the songs.
