Surra kevadel : romaan

The action of the new novel "Im Frühling sterben" by the acclaimed German writer Ralf Rothmann (b. 1953) takes place in the last year of World War II.

This is the story of two 17-year-old country boys, Walter Urban and Friedrich «Fiete» Carol, who are drafted into the army in February 1945. Walter becomes a Waffen-SS driver, Fiete is sent to the front. He deserts, is imprisoned and sentenced to death - and Walter finds himself facing his best friend, gun in hand, to carry out the death sentence at the behest of his cynical boss.
