This book contains nearly 6,000 place names and a rich collection of local folklore from Võnnu parish and the neighbouring areas of Kambja parish in southern Estonia. The source material was gathered in the 1960s by Lemming and Ilse Rootsmäe, who interviewed more than 500 local residents while travelling throughout the region. Alongside historical place names and legends, the book introduces colourful local figures, manor lords, and the distinctive Võnnu dialect, offering valuable insights into the cultural history and oral heritage of the area.
