One of the most prominent television journalists, Madis Salum, describes in his book what does not reach us through the screen - the motivations, backgrounds, and evaluations of his activities. Capturing sensation is every journalist's dream, and Madis Salum has succeeded in doing so time and again. However, he also reveals the analytical work's volume and intensity that allows a journalist to be present at the critical points in time, participate in events, and document them. It was the compiler's task to transcribe Salum's memories from the dictaphone tape into a smoothly readable text while still preserving the author's individuality. M. Salum recalls Estonia's recent history - the events in Hirvepark and the ban on their coverage in the media, as well as the dispatch of ETV employees to Moscow for the XIX Party Conference in June 1988. At the end of the work, there is an interview with M. Salum discussing how he became a journalist.
