The research work has been completed over 14 years. The study is divided into three parts. The first part ("Land, Monuments, Culture") analyzes the landscapes of the lower Pirita River region as well as excavated monuments based on settlement units. The second part ("Chronology") is dedicated to questions of the chronology of the Metal Age. The third part ("Settlement, Society, and Economy") constitutes a comprehensive archaeological analysis of settlement. It introduces the essence and principles of this work and the results obtained in neighboring countries. The analysis examines settlement units throughout the Metal Age and considers the development of settlement separately in all studied areas, subsequently generalizing the results. The final chapter investigates social and political development and economic strategies.
