Johan Kõpp, who was an active member of Estonian society for nearly half a century and worked as the rector of University of Tartu, escaped to Sweden in 1944. In his memoirs titled "Mälestuste radadel" he describes his life and work.

The third part is about his psychological development and life as a young intellectual in Pärnu, Palamuse and Laiuse.
