The inspiration to write this book came from a dream, and it was supposed to become a cheerful and erotically charged summer novel titled “Seksitalu.” However, due to the lack of real-life prototypes, the characters began to act on their own and interfered in contemporary issues: they complained about the economic deadlock, supported the dominance of television in the field of art, and were dissatisfied with the official Lutheran God, instead setting out to create a national religion. The chain of events that begins with the sacrifice of a black rooster eventually leads to human sacrifice. The characters do not hesitate to discuss the actions of specific figures in Tallinn and even propose another version of the adventures of the forest brothers Voitka. The end of the twentieth century may also be longer than a single year, and perhaps the title “Sajandilõpu suvi” suits this novel as well.
