This story is one of the first attempts in Estonian literature to assign more serious objectives to a science fiction narrative. The scientific and technical background is presented only briefly, often merely as isolated hints, which the reader must connect using their own imagination. The main focus of the story is on the question of what the human of the future will be like—what problems will captivate them, what ideas will guide them, and what challenges and contradictions will compel them to continue exploring and striving with unrelenting effort.
