There was a time when the majority of the population lived in rural areas, with their hands in the soil and a deep respect for agriculture. However, the situation and attitudes have changed. Yet, why is rural life and agriculture still important in the 21st century? How should the state and each of us intervene to ensure that the ancient truth is not forgotten: "When agriculture flourishes, so do all other arts. When agriculture declines, all other branches of industry, both at sea and on land, perish with it."
This book attempts to address these and many other questions. For the first time, an effort has been made to systematize and analyze agricultural policy more broadly, especially for a better understanding of Estonia's future developments and to indicate a possible direction in the globalizing world.
