Master tailor Eduard Uusen rose to the top of his field as the personal tailor of the Tartu intelligentsia and became a legend during his lifetime. Eduard Uusen's own "memorandum" is a moving story about his childhood in the village of Nõva in Pala rural municipality at the end of the last century, his adolescence during the beginning of the last century, and the difficult path of a young man who lost his leg between a threshing machine to a man, a master and a family man. This book has a prominent place in the city of Tartu through both folk tales and memories. One of the values of the memoirs is the brief visual descriptions of Tartu before and during the First World War, Uusen's trips to St. Petersburg and meetings with well-known cultural figures of the time. The atmosphere of the era created through the text is supported by numerous historical photographs of the Tartu milieu and streets of the early 20th century.
