Albert Schweitzer was a doctor of philosophy and a private associate professor at one of Europe's oldest universities, an organist, an outstanding musicologist and organ specialist, who, at the peak of his creativity and as a recognized author in several humanities, suddenly studied to be a doctor, then traveled to the primeval forest of Equatorial Africa for half a century, built hospital buildings with the money he earned from his own work, without hope to get this money back, he tirelessly treated lepers, treated wounds and assisted childbirth. And at the same time, he did not neglect music or philosophy, but was able to do more in both areas than before.
