Toomas Kall, when capturing Arnold Rüütli's life, turned to folk traditions and popular forms of expression. Among people, there is always talk about what notable figures do or what signs of their future endeavors can be seen in the sky or nature.

At first, it is the people, later they become traditions, often presented in a quite precise and vivid style of speech. This is definitely not an authorized or factually accurate biography of Arnold Rüütli, but rather a folk narrative. Both genres, however, have their own unique charm.
