Johan Kõpp, who was an active member of Estonian society for nearly half a century and worked as the rector of University of Tartu, escaped to Sweden in 1944. In his memoirs titled "Mälestuste radadel" he describes his life and work.

The fourth and last part is about his work as a pastor in Laiuse church, when the end of Russian Imperial era was coming to an end and Estonian independence was about to be gained.
